Telangana Government recently finished the construction and consecration of Sri Yadagri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple. The first and only temple all over the country where a government has constructed the temple with public funds. Around 10 to 15 thousand devotees visit the most famous Vedagiri (Yadagirigutta) temple. Legend states that Lord Narasimha appeared for the severe penance of Rishi Yadagiri on this hill and manifested in the current form. Rishi Yadagiri attained moksha in this place and his divinity made a number local tribal people visit him for worship. Their crowd made the lord to disappear and people searched number of places for ages. After some years Lord narasimha Swamy appeared in the dream of a girl and gave the directions to the present cave where Narasimha Swambhu murthi is present. A small temple complex was constructed here and many re-devlopment works are done by various rulers.
