The Historical evidence starts from the praise of Kukke Lingam by Jagadguru Adisankara 2500 BCE. Another legend states that Lord Vasuki Naga sought shelter in Kumara Mountain to escape Garuda Wrath until Lord Shiva took him as his ornament.
