Ahobilam Narasimha Swamy – Temple Sthala Puranam & History:
Sanakadi Rishis once visited vaikunta to have darshan of sri maha vishnu. The gate keepers of Vaikuntam stopped them and asked them to wait, as it is the private time between Vishnu & Lakshmi devi. The sages argued to let them see vishnu in the same time. Enraged for their insolence, Sages cursed them to get separated from vaikuntam. After Jaya Vijaya prayed to Vishnu he granted them to take 3 births as Vishnu Haters & 10 births as his devotees. Jaya Vijaya asked vishnu to make them take as vishnu haters and they took births as Hiranyakasyapa & Hiranyaksha on earth. Lord Vishnu took Varaha Avtar to kill Hiranyaksha & Narasimha Avtar to kill Kiranyakasyapa to protect Prahlada.
Ahobilam Narasimha swamy cave temple was the exact place where Lord Vishnu took Narasimha God emerging from a pillar to protect Prahlada. There are total 9 Temples on Ahobilam hill, Garudadri hill etc. Sadguru Kasi Nayana Swamy has done his tapas here and attained darshan of Lord Narasimha granting Annapoorna Shakti power for him. A small stream of continuous flowing water and formed as Bhavanashini river. Ahobilam is the conjunction to two words Aha & Bali. People seeing the rage of Narasimha and his strength they praised him as Aha Bali means great prowess. in other words Bilam means cave where narasimha took the incarnation.
